What is photogrammetry?
Photogrammetry is a science and technology of obtaining reliable information about physical objects and the environment through the process of recording, measuring and interpreting photographic images. This process results in creating for example 3D models, point clouds or 2D images like maps.
Who uses photogrammetry?
Photogrammetry is used in many fields such as mapping, architecture, engineering, police investigation, digitisation of museum collecions, archaeology or preserving cultural heritage. It is also considered an art form.

Dominican monastery, Island of Šćedro, Croatia
The ruins of the Dominican monastery of Saint Mary of Mercy. The exact date of construction is not known, but it is first mentioned in available documents in 1460. After the departure of the Dominicans in the 18th century, the French occupation followed and the monastery complex became the property of the state, which sold it in 1898. This marked the beginning of the permanent settlement of the island, to which the development of permanent agricultural crops also contributed.
Created for the Friends of the Island of Šćedro Association
