Photogrammetry for Archaeology and Digital Heritage - On-line Course

Photogrammetry is an ideal technique for use in archaeology. It enables relatively quick, detailed and non-destructive documentation of archaeological sites and finds, as well as cultural heritage objects. It allows for the creation of virtual copies of such objects, which can then be shared on the Internet, giving people from all over the world access to them. It also has a huge advantage over ordinary photographic documentation, because its results are presented in 3D. That is why it is quickly becoming a standard in archaeology and it is worth learning it somewhere. See below our scan of the ancient Roman ruins on the island of Hvar in Croatia.

Our Photogrammetry for Archeology and Digital Cultural Heritage course was created with archaeologists in mind, as well as people dealing with photographic and video documentation who cooperate with archaeologists. During the course, you will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to 3D scan excavations, ruins, buildings, statues, archaeological finds and other objects of cultural heritage.

The course costs 450 EUR, is 100% on-line and the dates and times are flexible so we can accommodate you! For more information, visit the Photogrammetry for Archaeology and Digital Heritage – On-line course page.

Photogrammetry for Underwater Archaeology and Underwater Cultural Heritage - On-line Course

If you are a diver, or have access to an underwater drone (ROV), you may be interested in a course in underwater photogrammetry in archaeology. While a lot of remnants of ancient cultures have already been found on land, many of them have been waiting to be discovered underwater for thousands of years. When they are found, they need to be documented somehow, and this is where underwater photogrammetry comes in handy. Below is our scan of an ancient Roman wreck, resting 45m underwater near the Croatian island
Šcedro.

In underwater archaeology, there is generally less time for documentation and research work, because divers are limited by air consumption, nitrogen saturation, water temperature and many other factors. All the more reason why underwater photogrammetry works well as a technique that can relatively quickly and accurately document larger areas underwater and then study them on land, reducing the number of dives. It is also a great technique for presenting discoveries and underwater cultural heritage to all those who, for various reasons, will never go underwater.

Our Photogrammetry for Underwater Archaeology and Underwater Cultural Heritage – On-line Course has been created for underwater archaeologists, as well as divers co-operating with archaeologists and dealing with underwater photographic and videographic documentation for archaeology. During the course, you will gain the necessary knowledge and skills to 3D scan underwater excavations, sunken ruins, shipwrecks, statues, archaeological finds and other underwater cultural heritage objects.

The course costs 450 EUR, is 100% online and the dates and times are flexible so we can adapt to your needs! For more information, visit the Photogrammetry for Underwater Archaeology and Underwater Cultural Heritage – On-line Course page.
